Zooey Deschanel had a baby boy and gave him the cutest name
Happy baby news! “New Girl” star Zooey Deschanel and her husband Jacob Pechenik have just welcomed a new baby boy into their family.
And, we just know that you’re on pins and needles to hear the name! (After all, Deschanel is known for her quirky ways, and she named their first child Elsie Otter.) So what did the proud parents name their little boy?
Charlie Wolf! How cute is that?
Deschanel and her husband secretly wed in 2015, and shortly thereafter, Elsie Otter arrived. The duo are famously camera-shy and try to keep their private life away from the media. (Pechenik is also in the entertainment business, but behind the camera: He produced films such as “Solace” and “The Skeleton Twins.”)
So, don’t expect to see pictures of Charlie Wolf or Elsie Otter on the cover of People anytime soon. However, at least Deschanel shared their fun names with us!
Some people might mock celebrities for their wacky baby-naming habits. But personally, I love that Deschanel is not afraid to let her individuality show when it comes to naming her kids—and she opted for a traditional first name with a less conventional middle name. It works! After all, Otter or Wolf would be strange names to see on a job resume in about 20 years, but as middle names, these wildlife-themed monikers are just adorable.
Although, it does kind of make you wonder what animal she will come up with if they ever have baby No. 3. Personally, my vote is for “Squirrel” or maybe “Walrus.”
Deschanel had this to say on “Ellen” about her naming practices back in 2015: “We were like, you know, the middle name can be a little bit wild.”
Agreed! And with an “awk-dorable” mom like Deschanel, these kiddos will be sure to appreciate their sweet and unique names. Congrats to the happy parents!
