Chipotle rolls out queso nationwide

You may have heard that earlier this year, Chipotle started testing a queso dip at some of its stores.

If you were one of the unlucky one’s who didn’t live near a test location, you can fret no more. Chipotle is now rolling out queso dip to the entire country, and it’s time for cheese lovers to celebrate.

Fans of the fast-casual Mexican joint have been requesting queso for years, but the company refused to roll it out until they got their recipe just right.

Unlike many other restaurants that offer an artificial version of queso dip, Chipotle wanted to make sure their version was made with only real ingredients—and it is.

The Chipotle queso is made with no artificial flavor, colors, preservatives or industrial additives, and it also happens to be gluten-free.

It’s made with a base of cheddar cheese, and it includes flavorful ingredients such as onions, tomatillos, tomatoes and several varieties of peppers.

Currently, the queso dip is available at select Chipotle locations, but come September 12, the all-natural queso will be available nationwide.

“Although queso was the number one requested menu item, we never added it to our menu before now because we wouldn’t use the industrial additives used in most quesos,” said Steve Ells, founder, chairman and CEO at Chipotle said in a statement.

“Additives make typical queso very consistent and predictable, but are not at all in keeping with our food culture. Our queso may vary slightly depending on the characteristics of the aged cheddar cheese used in each batch, but using only real ingredients is what makes our food so delicious,” he added.

Customers can order queso as part of their entrée or on the side in two sizes with chips to use as a dip. No matter how you like it, if you’re a fan of cheese, you’ll want to get yourself to a Chipotle ASAP.
