Shamrock-shaped Tortilla Chips Are The Cutest Way To Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day

How Does She

When it comes to celebrating St. Paddy’s Day, most of us don’t think much further than green beer or Shamrock Shakes. However, these shamrock-shaped tortilla chips, and accompanying dips, will change everything you know about St. Patrick’s Day snacking.

Making homemade tortilla chips might sound daunting, but it is actually quite simple. As long as you have tortilla wraps, you can make tortilla chips! You simply have to slice the wraps into chip shape, and then bake or fry them.

As this recipe from Family Fresh Meals explains, you can use regular yellow tortilla wraps, and or spinach wraps, which are green and ergo perfect for a St. Pat’s party. The easiest way to cut the shapes is with a shamrock-shaped cookie cutter. Then lightly spray your shamrocks with olive oil and bake in the oven. You can salt them to taste, or give them a hint of spice with the help of cumin, red pepper flakes, or paprika.

You could also make rainbow shamrock chips with this recipe from Smart Schoolhouse. With the help of small paintbrushes and rainbow food coloring, you can create a rainbow of four-leaf-clovers that will bring a smile to anyone’s face.

Of course, you’ll need a festive dip for those chips, too: Guacamole, salsa, or green chili queso dip are all good options. This recipe for homemade green chile queso dip from How Sweet Eats is made with Monterey jack cheese, sharp white cheddar cheese, cilantro, and jalapeño peppers.

Another good option is this Pot of Gold salsa from How Does She. It’s made with yellow heirloom tomatoes, onion, cilantro, lime juice, and yellow bell pepper. With the help of a blender, it’s easy to get these ingredients to a smooth, creamy texture, and the end result is a fresh, flavorful dip that is the perfect hue for St. Patrick’s Day.
