This Cinnamon Roll Christmas Tree Is A Must-Have For Christmas Morning

Lauren's Latest

There’s nothing quite like waking up to the smell of cinnamon rolls in the oven on Christmas morning, and with this fun and festive recipe, it’s easy to bake up cinnamon rolls in the shape of a Christmas tree to bring an extra bit of cheer to your family come Dec. 25.

This recipe from Lauren’s Latest will walk you through how to make your very own cinnamon roll dough from scratch, bake it into classic pinwheel shapes and then arrange them to look like a Christmas tree, star topper and all!

The most time-consuming step in the process is waiting for the yeast to rise, which is also an important step for getting the dough just right. So, if you are making this on Christmas morning, make sure you’ve started the process a couple of hours before you’ll be expecting to chow down.

Once it’s time to bake, arrange the pinwheels into a triangular Christmas tree shape. And when the rolls come out of the oven and get topped with delicious, sweet frosting, your beautiful breakfast creation will look a little something like this:

Be sure to follow along with the directions from Lauren’s Latest if you’re interested in making everything by hand. Otherwise, you can look to Pillsbury for suggestions on how to make the canned cinnamon rolls extra-special this time of year.

This recipe from Pillsbury offers up instructions for creating a tree that’s almost too cute to eat:

And Pillsbury also has a recipe for creating more of a pull-apart cinnamon roll Christmas tree that’s perfect for a crowd.

This version suggests slicing cinnamon roll dough into fours and then rolling it into balls before arranging them into a tree with a wide base and narrow top. Finally, you “decorate” the tree by drizzling it with icing and covering it in sprinkles. How fun!

For another spin on Christmasy cinnamon rolls, this recipe from The Pinning Mama shows you how to unravel a cinnamon roll pinwheel to create individual Christmas trees so that everyone gets to eat an adorable little tree:

And not only can you create Christmas tree-shaped breakfasts, but you can create tree-shaped appetizers and desserts, too. So you won’t have to eat anything that’s not in the shape of a Christmas tree come Christmas Day if you don’t want to.

‘Tis the season, after all!
